I made this set of fillet knives for my brother. I mentioned elsewhere that he runs a Salmon fishing charter on the Great lakes. He is the best and can be contacted at Steve Ridley. One of the knives is 1/16" thick and is very flexible. The other is 1/8 thick and much more rigid. The handles are stabilized redwood lace burl. They get used all summer long and draw a lot of attention. This brings up a point of knifemaking philosophy. The first task of a knife is to cut as it was designed. The other task of a custom knife is to make your friends say "Wow! Let me see that!"
